"BITTER WINTER" It`s March 1943 and the newly formed 1st Waffen SS Panzer Korps delivers its devastating counter attack against the Red Army at Kharkov. The Korps was composed of the Leibstandarte, Das Reich and Totenkopf Waffen SS Panzergrenadier Divisions. Here at Kharkov they fought a tough and bitter battle against the Red Army and the relentless Russian winter. But these elite infantry fought with the best weapons available and an abundance of specialised winter uniforms. This was the Waffen SS finest battle delivering a victory from the debacle of Stalingrad. |
